COMMENTS?

· All of the athletic teams get so much assistance from the school, will the rodeo team every get any money or assistance

· Although I am not participating in any of the sports, I feel alright contributing to the fund. I understand that there are necessary expences in order to have these sports at UMC.

· As a commuting student who lives farther than 60 miles away, I do not take advantage of this service.

· Coaches should not lie about scholorship dollars to athletes. Gym time is not efficient. If non athletes are paying $54 they should have substantial open gym time year round because this money is a yearly fee.

· Division 2 athletics need funding to make the teams competitive with scholarships. We have come far, but we still need a lot.

· Don't attend many sporting events

· Funding for most sports is Extremely inadequate. Some sports (spring Sports) are getting absolutly nothing for equipment, because football and other fall and winter sports are getting the majority of the money.

· I am a non-traditional student that only attends classes at UMC and am not involved in sports. I feel I should not have to pay for those who are involved in sports. I am not opposed to sports but $54 is a large amount.

· I am disappointed in the unsportsman like behavior of many of the men's basketball players as well as the coach. A few specific players are exceptionally great sportsmen.

· I am dissatisfied with this because I am an Equine student who competes at a collegiate level against other colleges for IHSA show team. Even though we are competing at an athletic competition and promoting UMC we don't get any money for travel expenses. Yet we still pay this money so other athletic teams at UMC can recieve money.

· I am not an athlete on this campus and I have not gone to any of the athletic events the whole 4 years I have been here. I would rather pay at each event if I choose to go.

· I am not invovled in athletics, why should i have to pay for the teams to travel

· I believe athletics are very important, and we needfunding to support them. And i beieve that hypocritical &%$@*, such as xxxxxxx, should keep their tainted fingers off of our athletic funds.

· I believe some thing is wrong. I am a baseball play and I have to pay for my own uniform and the basketball gets a coach bus for there eleven players.

· I believe that athletics are important and they influence the students to work harder to keep their grades up.

· I don't attend the games but I think that a minimal fee to students is not a bad idea. I am not aware of the costs to athletes so I could not comment on that.

· I don't believe that ALL UMC students should be REQUIRED to fund sports. I am not in sports, do not attend any sports activities and feel I should not be REQUIRED to fund their programs.

· I don't go to too many games - so it doesn't make much sense for me.

· I live 100 miles from campus. I have never attended a sporting event. When I get done with classes, I want to get home to my family. I think it's insane to charge nontraditional students the same as everyone else.

· I live in Grand Forks and haven't attended a game in the 2.5 school years I have attended due to travel. I am also an older than average student and have many other activities which take up my time.

· I rarely attend athletic events and would rather pay the fee to be admitted than to have to support something that does not affect me.

· I really feel some of the money for athletic fees should go towards other purposes. Because the trend I have seen is it's the same people using the facilites (which is a small percentag of the campus). Take some of this money to hire a professional yearbook committee. To me, that would be money better spent.

· I think having a quality athletic program is very important to the University.

· I think it is good to have student in Free, but what about the students that don't go to the athletic events?

· I think it is totally unfair that we have no choice in supporting the atheletics. this is an agricultural college and I would rather pay that money to something such as NACTA where our true emphasis and abilities lie. Let's be honest, how many students from UMC go on to be professional atheletes and for the couple that do, is it something that we should all be paying for?

· I think that is why we get such great fan support at the athletic events.

· I think the Football team get treated better than any other sport that Crookston has to offer. I don't think that is fair

· I'll comment once regarding the fees in general versus individually. I do not like the fact that every student is basically forced to subsidize the activities of others. Why, for example,should I be forced to pay for someone's child care needs?

· If students want to play sports they should cover their own expenses. Other students shouldn't have to pay for them to have fun. Judging teams don't receive any money. We have to pay our own expenses for every judging trip we go on. How many people graduate and go on to play professionally? We are here to learn not play sports. If students want to go to games let them pay to get in. If we don't attend games why should we have to pay a fee, pay at the door.

· If we did not have athletics at this college our enollerment of full time students would decrease 30-60 percent

· It is not a fair fee for those of us that don't participate with the sports programs and or go to the games.

· It's a good cause, but is it really worth that much per student? I can't imagine.

· Need better equipment in the weight room. The nautilius machines are in dire need of replacement. There should be a lot better equipment in there.

· Sports at UMC are a crucial part to the University. UMC athletes make up nearly half the students of this university. I think this fee should increase a little bit.

· The Football feilds and Basketball Courts are great. I like are uniforms. I think our weight room for a University is kind of sad...I've seen many a highschool with nicer facilities. BUt I would also argue our weight room has everything you need to be successful in your training.

· the Teams never win - why? do they need better coaching? or more school support? There seems to be no school spirit here - I think this would help the teams to have fellow students supporting them

· The weight room looks like we could get tetnus. more money to them would mean a better facility. Inturmural is a great way to have fun, but people take winning there seriously and sometimes a person might not know anyone on a team, and they don't get to participate.

· There should be an increase in the cost a couple of dollars per student in order to improve athletic facilities. Need to modernize the facilities in order to compete in the recruiting of students and student athlete's. This University has to push to spend more money, which in return will generate more money from more students enrolling.

· This fee seems a little high for me, the only part that I use is the swimming at the public pool and I don't like paying $54 for just that.

· This is great, most colleges pay to get into their sporting events. The main U and UMD all have to pay to go to the hockey games so we have it good.

· USe some mosey to get a seated row machine in the weight room. Or fix the one that is there.

· We should not have to pay for this fee. Some students don't have anything to do with sports. The atheletes should have to pay this %$&#$ if they want it.

· Why should I have to help pay for athletic equipment? Do the athletes help pay for things needed by ag. students?

· why should we pay for them. They get all the scholarships and non athletes get nothing.

· With the increase in student enrollment, was there an increase in funding for the teams?

· that is the only one i have used at all

· Doctor times would be better on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Many of the classes are on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

· Don't use these services enough to get $24.75 out of it.

· Everyone gets sick one time or another.

· foods expensive at morsels, food is sometimes under par in the cafeteria

· Haven't even spoken with the school nurse. I also pay for my own health insurance from BC/BS of ND.

· Here again, I do not feel that EVERY student should be charged a fee for the nurse. I pay my own medical bills from the clinic and do not feel that I should have to pay for a service I have never used or intend to use.

· I beleive that this service is a great benefit. I use it all the time.

· I don't need the nurse because I have a full coverage health insurance plan and I access it at the clinic in Crooston

· I feel this should be optional, not everyone needs this service.

· I have already used this service twice this year and have been extremly satified.

· I haven't ever gone to the nurses office, and if anything was ever wrong, I would go to the hospital, no offense to the nurses here at UMC

· I live off campus and out of town, so if I am in need of any medical care I will go see my regular physician, so paying this does not benefit me.

· I really like to be able to go to the nurse and get some medication when I need it. I think that our nurse does a good job and she has been quite helpful to me in the past.

· I think that is great. You never know what will happen sometimes. It is refreshing to know someone is there for you.

· I think that you should pay for it if you need it only.. We all have nurses and doctors that we can go to back home.

One thing that would help me is if the Physician that comes to campus could come for a longer time or different times on different days - not always the same time. I have class during the time that the doctor comes to campus now. So, if I need to see him, I have to skip class.

· The nurse really dosn't do anything. She tells us to go to the doctor. We could have done that.

5. STUDENT ACTIVITIES ($18.00). Sponsors special events such as Homecoming, Snow Daze, & Johnny Holm. Also sponsors week night, weekend & noon programming such as comedians, hypnotists & musicians, as well as various other specialty acts. These programs are free to UMC students registered for 6 or more credits.

· I wish we can get more students too attend these events , they don't know what they are missing!!!!

· Bede could use more LAN ports and a good renavation to bring it up to date.

· Bede is awesome to catch up an what's going on with friends and school.

· Bede Lounge is the one place where people can hang out with each other and just relax.

· Coulc upgrade the futrniture in there. More internet hookups in the lounge would be nice also. It is a dogfight toget at them sometimes.

· I have yet too see my year book from my freshman, sophmore, and now junior year. If we are paying for this where is it and why have we not seen them yet. I have heard from graduated students that yet have too see their year book!!!!!

· 1/2 the students that pay for the year book never get one anyways. We should not have to pay for this. Tuition is expensive enough without having to pay for all of these extras. I pay all of my tuition on my own + living expenses etc.. I do not feel I should be requ!ired to pay for all of the extras. Year books should be like High School year books... You want one, you pay for one. If you don't want one, you don't have to pay for one.

· I am a senior at UMC and I only have 1 yearbook to date. I have inquired several times about where the missing yearbooks are, especially the one from when I was a freshman. UMC staff have told me that they had a problem with the guy who was supposed to do it or he quit that year or something like that. I want that yearbook the most. I've paid the fee how many times and received one. What are the chances that you are ever going to mail me these back-dated yearbooks in the future after I graduate? VERY SLIM! I wish that the people here would get on the ball and actually put out the book or forget having it if it's all talk. The yearbook that I want the most from this institution is from the 1996-1997 school year. Thank you for your time.

· I am in my 4th year of school here at UMC, and I only have ONE annual, which is from my FRESHMAN year. I have yet to receive annuals from my sophomore, junior, AND senior year. Why do you continue to charge us for annuals that we have NEVER seen? I think it is ridiculous and you owe US money for those annuals we have not gotten!!! That yearbook fee is just a big joke!

· I am unaware of the benefits of this, I have heard we are not provided with a yearbook, and that one is not available.

· I have been here for three years and still haven't even received a single one, it is quite rediculus, and I really could care less to receive one, because by the time I do, I'll probably be out of school for many years.

· This is a very serious issue with me, I have been here for three years and have yet received a yearbook. Some is very incompodant is getting the year books out or completed. If I do not get year books by the time I graduate, I will expect money back. Its not right otherwise. Would you expect different.

I don't think yearbooks are that important in college. Stude!nts usually take their own pictures at events and things anyway...

· Have them insure themselves without university liability.

· I am not involved in any clubs. Actually, it is difficult to be involved in anything, because I have a family and I work and study. There is no time for any activities.

· I don't understand why we have to pay for things that we don't belong to

· I think I should be able to pay student fee that apply to me.Not everyone at UMC. It adds up.

· I think that our technology fee is rather high. I believe that the computers are very important, but I feel that we should have the option to buy after our schooling is over, the fees should be part of our purchase. Thank you

· I would just like to say that I am a senior, wife and mother of three working towards my bs. I have never been able to take advantage of the activities my money has been going towards for the fact that i do not have the time nor is any of the activities geared towards unconventional students. I believe that because distance students do not have to pay this fee, then maybe individuals such as my self should not have to pay the fee also.

· I'm not sure what is all covered with the insurance but the clubs definately need the insurance.

· If the club is not suported by the student body, what is the point of having it, if only a few people are in it. What is liability insurance for clubs, what are they liable for..?

· This insurance is important, and it is nice that the clubs don't have to worry about getting their own insurance.

· Why should the students pay for car or bus insurance? What do the school pay for?
