A. ORIENTATION

• About orientation. The activities that we did were fun but as for meeting people it didn't help because after the activity you forgot the people you talked to.
• Orientation was fun and a great way to meat a lot of new people.
• The orientation was a waste of my time. I could have been working and earning money instead of attending it.

• Bring back the old XXXXXX course.
• faculty and staff at UMC is great, specially happy about the way courses are conducted in the XXXXXX programme. You have got two of the nicest professors to conduct this programme. Extremely happy about the progress done so far.
• I love the teachers and the education the school offers, but other than that the campus is rank!
• I think teachers need to tell us exactly what is homework and when it is due.
• I wish that if we, the student body, had a problem w/ a class course, meaning in the way it is being instructed we could voice our opinions and suggest other means of teaching. I choose this campus for the one-on-one contact and the technology. Using the computers but, not being taught by the computer. The computer should be just one of several ways in which one could learn the ideas needed. I think that over all most of the teachers teach the class and the computer is another means of teaching. Yet there are a few that allow the computer to teach the class. As of now I am in a class that we have not gone over what was to be learned. So I feel lost of what the instuctor is really looking for, along w/ other students in the class. I don't consider UMC to be a! bad place to be attending due to one class,in fact I suggest others to attend, yet I would hope that insturctors would ask the students what should be improved upon, since we are paying for the course/ education. I know that style of learning maybe the best for some, yet I hope that all can learn together.
• Might consider strongly adding a biology major. You have strong progams that relate to it, but the lack of a biology major almost had me going to another school, and I know several people that didn't go here because of that abscence.
• Teachers here assume too much is known! If we haven't had the courses they need to find that out and keep us up on the information! Otherwise we just get further behind!
• The xxxxxxx teacher thinks that we know how to fill out all of the stough will littel or no wxplenation of it and unless you had xxxxxxxx in highschool you are lost fron the begining.
• The Faculty are very friendly, and help you with problems you might have.
• . There is one of my instructors out of four that I have problems with. It's not that he is a bad person I like him alot it's just that I wish that he would explain things in class a little better instead of leaving it up to the tutors to teach. This way we can have a better chance of understanding things that he has on a quiz the day after he instructs on it.

• I am very happy here at UMC. I am a little disappointed with the lack of financial resourse for the hockey program. Players don't even get there own jerseys. Players are very superstitious and attached to there numbers. That number may be on a jersey that is too small for that player. Therefore that player has to wear a different number. That WILL cause a player to not play as well mentally because they don't have their number.

• I like UMC and I glad that I enrolled here. If I had the chance I would do it all over again. The teachers are nice and the classes are fun.
• I really appreciate the free tutors and tutoring that is offered. Another subject as far as the equine program goes I think it's great but I wish that when the horsemans association goes on the road to horse shows that there would be some kind of funding provided for those trips so that everybody has an equal chance to go. Maybe form some kind of fund raiser !events. I know that other clubs have fund raisers that provide them with all the money they could ever need or want.
• I really appreciate the wide variety in the school related clubs and organizations here on campus.
• I think the staff for the most part are excellent. The phone service is terrible. And the fact that there are many students who need to work and would like to work on campus but cannot because they do not qualify for work study is very discouraging. And the fact that many departments really need the help but cannot hire someone who is not a work study student is very frustrating. Especially since this is a first come first served "grant" many students who need it did not receive it. I also think that UMC should try to lower the cost of living on campus. It is much cheaper to live off campus and I think that the university is going to lose many of it's student to off campus housing.
• MORE DANCES, the last one was fun...
• The food in Brown Dining Hall is not the greatest at times
• There is an extremendous amount of partying that takes place both on and off campus here, most of it I believe is completely unnecessary.
• This is the most boring homecomming week i have ever been involved in.

• I think that the heaters should be fixed, because they make noises all night
• I would like to see the dorm floors do more activities together. So I could meet more people.
• The heat needs to be turned on in Skyberg….The windows are drafty in Mcalls…...New carpeting…..
• The heater in Skyberg is pissing my roomate off
• When I've gone to friends places to study (in the dorms) have been very loud and several of the girls were very rude and were kicking the doors of others. I am very glad that I chose not to live on campus this quarter, and I certainly will not be living in the UMC dorms this year at all.
• Wish they had better ways of living in dorms when you are stuck with someone who you dislike and want to move to dorm with your friends
• They do not have enough lighting in the dorms and the RA's are to strict.h
• they need to cjange alchol policy and need to have a larger varitey of things to do on weekends
• We need a little more heat in Skyberg.. But other then that I'm satisfied with everything I'm involved with..
• Need better lighting in dorm rooms!!!

• I like the closeness of buildings, the friendly staff and students, and the technology available.
• when hooking up to the internet at home it sometimes doesn't work. Students should get the other numbers to call when they get their computer.
• You have so many computers, but only programs that are for mainly networking and programming. In my opinion, classes such as computer graphics or animation would be good. It would give students a chance to be artistic and creative with their computers.
• I think that it was very poor management on behalf of the computers. I waited for four days before I recieved mine when I could have been learning how to use it on my own so I wouldn't have to start at ground zero in the beginning of my classes.
• I feel that the computer help desk is very helpful but the majority of students aren't learning from the CD ROMS.
• . I like having the lap top computers to do my work on instead of having to sit in the library all night doing my assignments. It is so convenient.
• … I don't think a computer class sould be required..I live on my computers and could probably teach the teachers!! It should just be a one day seminar for everyone and if they decide they need to know more then offer them the class..

• I am deciding weather or not I want to transfer to NDSU within the next couple of years.
• i HAD PLANEDTO GO INTO THE MILATARY BEFORE I BLEW OUT MY KNEE. I HAD EXPECTED A LIVING HELL OUT OF COLLAGE OF BEER, SEX, STUDING, AND HANG-OVERS

• I think UMC is one of the friendliest universities around. It is now too big but yet it is not too small.
• need more good looking woman to enroll here.
• UMC is a great campus. I know my degree will be fullfilled here.
• UMC is too expensive. Tuition is too high. I could go to MSU, which is also a good college, for a lot less.
