2Graduation rate
Note. The IPEDS graduation rate calculation and results are different than the UM rates reported in the “First-time/Full-time Freshmen Entering Cohorts Retention and Graduation Rates”.
The primary difference is in how the base cohort (first-time, full-time freshmen) is defined. The UM report includes all entering students for the term coded as NHS (new high school) who
are full time and have a degree code of declared bachelors. For the same cohort in IPEDS a "pure" new entering freshman is calculated by excluding those with any post high school
college level credits and including students with a degree code of either declared “bachelors” or “undecided”.
