Each fall, student athletes are challenged to give blood.  Since student athletes are such a force on this campus, this act of community service is an out-pouring of caring athletic teams.  63 athletes were slated to donate blood on Monday, October 7, 2002.  Walk-ins were welcomed but often had to wait in line to donate.  When the tallies were in, 59 pints of blood were collected, which is a new record of blood donation on the University of Minnesota, Crookston campus.
