SERVICES AND SUPPORT UNITS

  1. My question is can the registrars office be any less helpfull????? Students should be able to register from 8-5 regular office hours!!!!
  2. Library hours that can be used on the weekends, more parking.
  3. Food in Morsels is really good, but so EXPENSIVE. Why are we paying so much extra?
  4. I disagree with the way schedualling (sic) for registration happens. It seems that even if you have the credits, if your name comes in the middle of the alphabet, you register later than people with less credits.
  5. I feel that the library needs to be kept open later than 10:00 and later than 4:30 on friday afternoons. It is difficult to do research during the day because I work and have 20 credits.
  6. I feel that this school should really work on the fact that in McCall hall that the printer is in the basement and that the printer is rarely ever checked to make sure that there is paper in it or that it is even turned on. I also think that it is in accesible (sic) if they lock the doors until eight and if you have class at eight and have to print you can't get your paper until later
  7. At the same time I know that to live in brink hall and it really sucks the big one because we only have one hook up for two people. it is hard to get things done when you both need the internet to do your project. why is it the we only have one port when all others have one for each person. and lower the price of the credits.
  8. I played intamural (sic) basketball this year; it was a lot of fun, but too few games were played.
  9. But, i feel that there can be some changes in the apartments like better curtains and maybe a paint job.
  10. I think they need printers in the upstairs of the library and for the they should open the library on saturdays at least towards the ends of the quarter when people need to get into the library to study or use the materials.
  11. I think they should give us a choice of food and have more in Morsels, baked good like , bread, milk and other neccessies (sic) for living. They would get people in there to buy more. Also if we could use a card to be use in the book store too. Both places would get money and won't be hurtont (sic) so much.
  12. I wish that the library was open longer. All the other schools around here have a 24-hour library and I think that we need that here. I hate being in the middle of something and having to leave the library at 10:00. I wish that was open longer.
  13. I'm glad they finally have extended hours on the weekend before finals!!!
  14. Keep the library open until at least ten on Sunday. A lot of students don't get back until late in the evening.
  15. LONGER LIBRARY HOURS, ESPECIALLY ON SATURDAYS. NEED A PRINTER IN THE UPSTAIRS PART OF THE LIBRARY!!! OPEN LIBRARY BEFORE 8 AM CLASS.
  16. It would be nice if there was a printer in Lee Hall or leave one door in Skyberg unlocked after 8 pm so we can get get in to pick up our papers
  17. more activities on weekends in the winter
  18. More computers in the library. More plugins and study spaces in the library.
  19. More funding for baseball!!!!!!!! High schools have more funding for baseball. THIS IS COLLEGE RIGHT???

  21. More parking spaces are needed on west end of campus
  22. One cheap parking pass for all lots.
  23. I do however have a few complaints. The first one is the lack of parking near Dowell Hall. There is plenty of parking on campus, but a lot of it is not very convenient.

  25. Please have more healthy choices to eat in Brown Dining.
  26. Have specific smoking floors in the dorms for those of us who can't stand the smell. The amount of money required to have your own room is too high. If someone is used to having his/her own room it is too much to almost require them to have a roommate with the price for having a single room being so high.
  27. Put a printer in the library upstairs of the library
  28. Something should be done about parking facilities outside the Westside apartments. Also, alcohol violations should not be given to those 21 and over. This is the way it works in all of the country, why should it be different on the UMC campus?
  29. The hot water heaters in Lee Hall should be checked. Many times there is little or no hot water.
  30. The library should be open longer and there should be more parking on campus.
  31. The day care is not here to support the students just by the way that they charge and the lack of available space. The library only considers the on campus and young students with the hours that they use, closed on Fri night until Sunday.
  32. Web registration is very convinient (sic)
  33. Yearbooks??? Hello where are they!!! Res life!!! BITES!!! Moldy rooms? I don't think so!!! R.A.'s rude? Bookstore RIP OFF!!!!! Janitors....We have some....Sure could have fooled me!!!!!!

 

COMPUTER RELATED

  1. For what we pay for computers, we should have better computers
  2. As a disabled student, I appreciate being able to use my computer in disabled students for taking tests.
  3. Better way to long on the net from home. When the need for research is needed at home it would be nice to use the system if that is what it is for
  4. I feel that I couldn't accomplish the grades I do with out my computer. I have found it a neccessity (sic). It is easy access for information and organization. I want to thank you for the opportunities I have had here at UMC.
  5. I have been very thankful for the computer experiences at UMC. Computer have helped me a lot. Using a computer daily has helped increase my typing skills. I will miss using the computer as I graduate from UMC soon. There are so many more things that I could do with the computer. When I first started at UMC they did not have the laptops The laptops did not come in At times there might be problems and as a student it can be frustrating when the network goes down.
  6. I think that the computers help out with my school work a lot and they should continue to use them in the future.
  7. The computer software is a huge help with homework. Also, the technology will be a great help in my further employment.
  8. I would like to complain about the problem of logging on from off campus. It seems that anytime I want to log on, the lines are always busy.
  9. The school need to remember to provide the same sort of computer options for people off campus. There are many times during a day when the off campus student cannot log on. This makes weekends and week nights difficult with some homework.
  10. We should have an option as to whether or not we need a laptop computer.
  11. It is hard to imagine not having a personel (sic) notebook computer from day to day.
  12. When a student has 3 accounting classes or classes for that matter fact that do not require computers they should not be required to pay for one that quarter.

 

ACADEMIC PROGRAM RELATED

  1. Fire xxxxx (he/she) is a %@#&$ in the purest form of the word. (He/she)e is a horrible, horrible teacher.
  2. Slacken up on the attendance policies.
  3. GET TEACHERS IN CLASSES THAT CAN TEACH BETTER. I JUST TOOK A xxxxx CLASS AND I LEARNED PROBABLY MORE THAN I THINK BUT I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF CLASS IT WAS AND HOW IT WAS TAUGHT. xxxxxxx IS A GREAT TEACHER I THINK (she/he) SHOULD GET THE CLASS BACK FOR FUTURE CLASSES.
  4. The plant materials and lab materials around campus are excellent!
  5. I really believe that the program for college algebra needs to be looked at, i feel that a student cannot learn anything
  6. I recently heard that the MechAg shop may be taken out and offices would be put in it's place. This seems to me like it would be a huge waste. I know that a lot of students use that s shop. If office space is such a necessity, I think there are other places that can be converted to offices, where it will effect far less students.
  7. I think they need to work on advisor tasks and committees. My advisor is completely ignorant of students time, time management and organizational management in general, and has very little respect for (his/her) students.
  8. I would like to see a greater variety of classes offered; as well as having classes available more then one quarter. Specifically the upper level. as a senior it is frustrating to only have one option per quarter.
  9. Leave the Mech Ag shop just the way it is in the future! It is vital that ag students and a lot of other majors learn those skills that Paul Aakre teaches in those shop rooms. The facilities and environment there are wonderful and Paul does a grea
  10. UMC is a pleasant campus, only thing, it doesn't have much for variety of classes. It has a lot of courses dealing with agronomy, but not dealing with many other fields.

 

CAMPUS CLIMATE/ENVIRONMENT

  1. I like it here, especially the class sizes and the professors
  2. Get more AG students here.
  3. Great campus! It's nice to know you're not a number! I love the one-on-one atmosphere.
  4. I really enjoy going to school at UMC.
  5. I really enjoy going to school here. I am really glad that I brother and sister persuaded my parents and me to come here.
  6. I really enjoy the campus.
  7. I think That UMC needs one place for 21 year old or older to drink and dance on campus. If they had a place on campus it would keep a lot of them from drinking and driving. This would save alot of students from being in trouble with the law. Plus I am sure the school would make money from this Idea.
  8. It is an excellent place to attend.
  9. Maybe some jobs should be available to other students from different majors other then INM
  10. Overall my experience at UMC has been great
  11. The theater needs to be remodled (sic) big time. It needs a new light board
